Rule 1: Life is not fair; get used to it.

Rule 2: The worlddoesn't care about your self-esteem. The world expects you toaccomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

Rule3: You will not make $40,000 a year right out of high school. You won'tbe a vice president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

Rule5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents hada different word for burger flipping; they called it "opportunity".

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they arenow. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes,and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you savethe rainforest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try"delousing" the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school mayhave done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In someschools they have abolished failing grades; they give you as manychances as you need to get the right answer. This doesn't bear theslightest resemblance to anything in real life.

Rule 9:Life is not divided into semesters. You do not get summers off and veryfew employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that onyour own time.

Rule 10: Television is not real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go get jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds, chances are good you'll end up working for one someday.

學校裡有假日，到公司打工則不然，你幾乎不能休息，很少能輕鬆地過假日。
(否則你職業生涯中一起跑就落後了，甚至會讓你永遠落後)
在學校，老師會幫助你學習，到公司卻不會。如果你認為學校的老師要求你很嚴格，那是你還沒有進入公司工作。因為，如果公司對你不嚴厲，你就要失業了。
(你必須清醒地認識到：公司比學校更要嚴格要求自己)
人們都喜歡看電視劇，但你不要看，那並不是你的生活。只要在公司工作，你是無暇看電視劇的。
(奉勸你不要看，否則你走上看電視連續劇之路，而且看得津津有味，那你將失去成功的資格)
永遠不要在背後批評別人，尤其不能批評你的老板無知、刻薄和無能。
(因為這樣的心態，會使你走上坎坷艱難的成長之路)
